Guru Nanak Dev University observed NATIONAL ENGINEER’s DAY

AMRITSAR:The Electronics Technology Department of the Guru Nanak Dev University observed NATIONAL ENGINEER’s DAY to recognise and honour the achievements of the great engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya under the able guidance of the vice chancellor, Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu.

Prof. Shalini Bahel, Head of Department addressed the students and faculty. She acknowledged the role of engineers in developing technology in our day to day life. In his address Prof. Ravinder Singh Sawhney, Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology said that this day is dedicated to brilliant engineers working in various sectors. He said in India we commemorate this day in honour of Bharat Ratna awardee Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the greatest Indian engineer.

Dr.Ravinder Kumar Dy. Coordinator dedicated the work done for creating glossary for Technical Terminology in Punjabi during the workshops conducted at Guru Nanak Dev University in collaboration with Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Education Ministry, Govt. of India, to all engineers and Bharat Ratna awardee Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. During this event the contribution by the subject experts and linguists from Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar), Central University Punjab (Bathinda), Punjabi University (Patiala) and NIT Jalandhar to fulfil the objectives of creating meaningful glossary, was duly recognized and appreciated. Prof. Maninder Lal Singh, Prof. Sukhleen Bindra and all faculty members were present in this event.
