Guru Nanak Dev University Committed To Promoting Punjabi Language

AMRITSAR: Former Dean Academic Affairs, Guru Nanak Dev University, Vice Chancellor's O.S.D. And Professor and Poet of the Department of Architecture Prof. Sarabjot Singh Behl shared his poems with the students and teachers on the second day of the Punjabi week being celebrated at the School of Punjabi Studies.
Guru Nanak Dev University is committed to the development of Punjabi. He lauded the role being played by the Punjabi School of Punjabi Studies in the development of Punjabi literature, culture and Punjabi language in the development of Punjabi language. .
The head of the school of Punjabi studies, Dr. Manjinder Singh gave him a warm welcome on his arrival here. He also thanked Jaspal Singh Sandhu for his support in celebrating Punjabi Week. He also apprised about the programs of the second and third day of this three week long Punjabi Week and said that he would continue such programs for the development of Punjabi language.
The second day of the Punjabi week was dedicated to the poets in which besides the famous poets, the student poets of the department also recited six of their poems. The chief guest of this poetic court was IAS. And the famous poet S. Bakhtawar Singh while eminent writer Nirmal Arpan was the special guest. Kavi Darbar is conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Baljit Kaur Riyad started the Punjabi week with a very poetic style.
Kavi Darbar began with ghazals by Manish Kumar, a research student of the department. After this the eminent Punjabi poet Malwinder Singh with his duet presented poems dedicated to the peasant struggle. Sarabjit Singh Sandhu wowed the audience with his emotional and realistic poetry.
Punjabi poet Artinder Sandhu presented a poem on the existence of women and drew the attention of research students to the new Punjabi poetry being written. The famous Punjabi poet Dev Darad appeared with lyrical poems in which he presented a picture of Punjabi culture. Poems full of mythological excerpts from Sri Nirmal Arpan proved to be a poetic achievement. The chief guest of the poet's court was S. Bakhtawar Singh took the poet's court in a different tone by presenting poems with social realism and Sufi colors.
Prof. Kavi is presiding over the court. Sarabjot Singh Behl described human suffering in his poems depicting Punjab's suffering. The basic tone in his poetry is humanistic. At the end of the function, Assistant Professor Dr. Harinder Kaur thanked the guests, research students and students for their good attendance while the school also honored the poets on the occasion. Dr. Raminder Kaur, Dr. Megha Salwan, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur, Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, Dr. Harinder Singh was present in the audience on this occasion.
