GNDU Zonal Youth Festival 2022 for Government/Constituent Colleges and Associates Institutes

AMRITSAR: The Zonal Youth Festival of Government/Constituent Colleges and Associates Institutes of the Guru Nanak Dev University started here today in the packed Dasmesh Auditorium of the University.

Prof. Hardip Singh, O.S.D. to Vice Chancellor was the chief guest. Prof. Anish Dua, Dean, Student's Welfare along with the chief guest lighted the lamp. Prof. Hardip Singh said that the overall development of students is essential and for the same it is important to participate in cultural activities and other constructive pursuits.

Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest, judges, students and other guests, Prof. Dua said that though our activities seem repetitive, our enthusiasm should never wane away and we need to take up all matters energetically .

The festival started with the competition of Bhangra, Music & Fine Arts events. This festival would be concluded on October 21. The items of Bhangra, Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song (Indian), Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Classical Music Vocal Solo were organized in the Dasmesh Auditorium. On the stage of Architecture Department, Painting on the Spot, Cartooning, Collage, Poster Making, Clay Modeling, On the Sport Photography and Installation were organized. The quiz (Prilimnary) competitions were organized in the meeting hall of Dean, Student's Welfare.

Dr. Tejwant Singh Kang, Convener of the festivals said that that on October 20, Costume Parade, Mime, Mimicry, Skit, One Act Play will be held in Dasmesh Auditorium and Vaar Sining, Kawishri, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song competitions, Folk Orchestra will be organized in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. On the stage of Architecture Department, Rangoli, Phulkari, Mehndi and in the Conference hall, competitions of Poetical Symposium, Elocution and Debate will be organized. On October 21, in the Guru Bhawan Auditorium, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song, Western Insturmental Solo will orgianzed and Classical Dance, General Group Dance, Gidha will be held followed by prize distribution function in the Dasmesh Auditorium, he said.
