CGC Jhanjeri College celebrated 75th Independence Day

MOHALI: Chandigarh Group of colleges Jhanjeri celebrated 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm in an environment filled with patriotic expressions. The whole campus was decorated with flags and flowers. Indian National Flag was unfurled by Director, CGC Jhanjeri. CGC followed by chanting of National Anthem and patriotic songs. NCC students of CGC presented an impressive parade and gave a respectful salute.

While speaking on the occasion President Rachpal singh Dhaliwal paid rich tributes to the martyrs and Indian Defense Services for their invaluable contributions. They called upon the youngsters to draw inspiration from the martyrs; who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. Nevertheless young generation might not understand the values of sacrifices of the freedom fighters but the sacrifices made by them are invaluable. Apart from that students were asked to inculcate moral values, maintain ethical conduct and strive to excel in each field to contribute to the progress of the nation. The staff and students of CGC gathered in the sprawling lawns of the college to celebrate this historic day.

Slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and songs like “Vande Mataram, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge Ai Watan Teri Liye, Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” etc vented the skies over the campus. Sweets were distributed among the staff and students as a mark of jubilations over the occasion.
