3rd 'Mega Employment Fair' held under 7th State Level Employment Fair at SSM College, Dinanagar

DINA NAGAR, (GURDASPUR): The Punjab Government has organized 'Mega Employment Fairs' across the state with the objective of providing ''Ghar-Ghar Rozgar' to the unemployed youth and the promise made by the government to the people has been fulfilled. .This was stated by Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary Cabnit Minister Punjab, while interacting with the media after attending the 3rd State Level Employment Fair organized at SMM College Dinanagar.

Disclosing this here today Cabinet Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Capt. Amarinder Singh Chief Minister Punjab had set a target to start one job or self employment in every household under the''Ghar-Ghar Rozgar' scheme which has been achieved. He said that these employment fairs have been attended by various departments including Dairy Department, Animal Husbandry Department for establishing not only employment but also self employment and the youth were also being encouraged to set up their own businesses.
The Cabinet Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary further said that the 7th State Level Employment Fairs to be held across the state from 9th September to 17th September was getting overwhelming response from the youth and last 9th and 10th September mega employment fairs at Golden Institute Gurdaspur, the youth also participated with full enthusiasm.
She said that registration was also being done to provide free online coaching of government jobs in these job fairs so that the youth would not face any difficulty in preparing for the exams.
On the occasion District Employment Officer Mr. Prashotam Singh said that employment fairs were being organized following the guidelines issued by the government regarding COVID-19. Following the guidelines of Covid-19, various blocks have been set up at the job fair venues where the children are registered.
She further said that the fourth and fifth job fair would be held on September 16 and 17 at Government College, Batala. All the eligible candidates from class VIII to post graduation can participate in these job fairs.
About 17 companies, such as LIC, participated in the third MEga Employment Fair today. Axis Bank, Paytm, Airtel, Dixon Technology, World Planet, Sri Sai Education Society, NIIT, Bajaj Motors etc. also participated and besides various industries of the district also participated 744 young boys / girls participated in the job fair and out of these 653 candidates were interviewed, out of which 621 candidates were selected for the job in various companies and offer letters were given to them. Out of these 413 boys and 208 girls were selected. In this job fair where the candidates got employment by coming to the fair, virtual interviews were also conducted by the companies to help the candidates. In which 650 candidates participated and 436 candidates were selected in different companies. These include 243 boys and 193 girls.
