The 16th Pytax Mela will start from December 8 in Amritsar : Deputy Commissioner

The graph of Amritsar will also increase. This idea was expressed by Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar Mr. Harpreet Singh Sudan while addressing the meeting held by PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry with various departments in connection with the preparations of Pytax fair to be conducted from December 8 to December 12.
He said that of course this PhD is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, but since it is in Guru Nagar, it is our responsibility to host this program.

The Deputy Commissioner said that during the last 15 years Pytax has created a distinct identity not only in Punjab but also abroad. The organization of which is eagerly awaited by the people here.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the residents of Punjab to participate in it more and said that it is a matter of pride for all the residents of Amritsar that programs like Pytex are being organized from here.

Mr. Jaideep Singh, convener of PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Punjab Chapter, said that apart from national and international level industries, Punjab government institutions PSIEC, GAMADA, Punjab Agro Industry Corporation, PEDA, Milkfed, Markfed will register their presence in the fair. Apart from this, the central government departments including MSME, NABARD, Khadi and Rural Industries Commission, Ministry of AYUSH, NSIC, National and Corporation, National Jute Board, National Coir Board will set up their stalls in Pytax.
Speaking on this occasion, Madhu Pillay, Regional Director of PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that about 500 stalls will be set up here in about ten thousand square meters.

He said that in the year 2005, when Pytax was started in Amritsar, about 150 businessmen participated and only 50 thousand people visited it. Last year around three lakh people came here and this year around 5 lakh people are expected to visit.
