NEW DELHI: India’s fish production has more than doubled from 95.79 lakh tonnes in FY 2013-14 to a record 195 lakh tonnes in FY 2024-25, reflecting the success of the country’s ‘blue revolution’ launched by the Centre, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday ahead of the National Fish Farmers Day.
Inland fisheries and aquaculture alone have recorded a 140 per cent jump in the last 11 years, showcasing the power of India's water resources and the government’s bold initiatives, the statement said.
