District Magistrate orders people to wear masks in crowded places in view of increasing cases of Kovid

GURDASPUR: The Punjab Home Department has issued advisory on 'Mask Wearing' in view of recurring cases of corona in some states and Union Territories of the country. Therefore, under the direction of Principal Secretary, Department of Home and Justice, Government of Punjab, District Magistrate, Gurdaspur, Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq issued the following orders under section 144 CRPC, 1973 and Disaster Management Act, 2005 within the district.
The orders said that in view of the increasing number of corona cases in some states and Union Territories of the country, the residents of the district were advised to wear masks in crowded places. Under which masks should be worn in public places like buses, trains, airplanes, taxis, cinema halls, shopping malls, department stores, classrooms, offices and indoor gatherings.

If any person violates the above instructions, legal action will be taken against him under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Section 188 of the IPC. Therefore, the orders issued should be strictly followed. This order came into force on 21 April 2022
