Woman and two children burnt alive in fire in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad, Ashok Kumar Garg has expressed deep condolences on the death of a woman and her two children due to a tragic fire incident in a house and playway school in Dabua area of Faridabad city.

He said that soon after getting information about the incident, directions have been issued to officers to take action immediately. He said that whosoever is found to be guilty in this incident, action would be taken against him. A  high level committee of three senior officers  comprising of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad,  Secretary, Nagar Nigam and DCP has been constituted to investigate the incident. Mr Ashok Kumar Garg also visited the house of tragic fire incident and met the bereaved family members.

In the house, where the deceased woman was living with her husband and children, the husband of the deceased woman, Vishal was running clothes shop in the lower part of that house. His family lived on one of the above two floors whereas on the second floor, the deceased Neeta, owner of house, had opened a  playway school. The two children, who died in the incident, were children of Neeta. It is a matter of investigation if the fire broke due to any negligence and whether the play school was following the fire safety rules.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the fire safety standards will be checked in schools, coaching institutes and PGs in the district and strict action will be taken against the institutions which are not complying with rules.

On the other hand, Director General, Urban Local Bodies and Fire Services Department said that the state government is committed to fire safety in the state. If any institute is found violating the rules of fire safety, strict action will be initiated.
