2,26,80117 people in Punjab got Corona vaccine: Soni

AMRITSAR: Across the state 2 crore 26 lakh 80 thousand 117 persons have been vaccinated against corona, out of which 1 crore 61 lakh 9 thousand 8 hundred 68 persons have been given first dose and 65 lakh 70 thousand 249 persons have been given second dose.
These words were uttered by Mr. Om Prakash Soni Deputy Chief Minister Punjab who is also in charge of the Health Department after the inauguration of the newly constructed building of the Women's Hospital at Dhab Khatik at a cost of Rs. 2.63 crore. Mr Soni said the hospital was more than 100 years old and was known as the "Princess of Wales" during British rule. He said that even after independence this hospital was known as a women's hospital for providing better health services to the people of the city. But for the last 15 years, the hospital has been neglected. Mr. Soni said that now this hospital has been turned into a modern hospital with 30 beds. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services, obstetric services, cesarean section, uterine surgery, gynecological OPD, major and minor operations, pediatrician, dental services, X-ray, lab facilities, immunization services, indoor and outdoor services. Facilities are provided. Mr. Soni said that 108 ambulances have been specially attached to this hospital. He said that today this hospital has been formally dedicated in the service of the people and all the posts of doctors have been filled in this hospital.
Mr. Soni said that with the construction of this hospital the residents of the city would get a lot of convenience and they would not have to travel far for their treatment. Mr. Soni said that in this hospital dengue tests are done free of cost and immunization of children is also free. Mr Soni said corona tests were being carried out at the hospital even during the Corona epidemic. And now corona shots are being given at this hospital. .
Responding to a question from the press, Soni said that some cases of corona have come to light in Himachal Pradesh. "People who have not been vaccinated against corona must be vaccinated so that we can avoid this corona epidemic, " he said. He said that the second dose of Corona has been administered by only 32% of the people in the state and the people should take the second dose themselves. In reply to another question, Mr. Soni said that about 71, 000 Daegu tests have been conducted in Punjab, out of which about 21, 000 have tested positive and about 70 have died. Mr. Soni said that free dengue tests are conducted in 40 laboratories across the state and the cost of dengue test in private laboratories has been fixed at Rs.600. Mr. Soni said that the posts of doctors in the health department were being filled and at present about 800 paramedical staff were being recruited.

A large number of area residents were present.
