DERA BABA NANAK: Due to political rivalry Congress worker get seriously injured by former Akali Sarpanch in village Agwan falling under Dera Baba Nanak constituency today on Friday.
Police recovered two empty cartridges from the spot but officially not confirmed about firing. According to police injury occurred due to sharp edged weapons and all clear after getting statement by the victim. But mother of the victim told that former Akali sarpanch fired on his son along with other accused due to political rivalry.
According to gathered information, injured was identified as Kanwaljit Singh Son of Raghubir Singh resident of village Agwan falling under PS Dera Baba Nanak. Accused were identified as Former Akali Sarpanch of village Agwan Kulwant Singh, his sons recent Sarpanch Nirmal Singh and Harwant Singh, Satpal Singh, Narinder Singh and Raja.
According to the SSP Batala Deepak Hilori, above all Akali accused in which main accused Kulwant Singh ex sarpanch of the village attacked on Congress worker Kanwaljit Singh with sharp edged weapons and brutally injured him. SSP confirm that two empty cartridges were recovered from the spot but it is not confirmed that injury was due to firing. He said that in preliminary investigation it has found that sharp edged weapons were used in this incident. While all picture would clear after the statement of the injured Kanwaljit Singh who was referred to Amritsar and an fir would be launched SSP added.
On the other hand eyewitness Gurjit Kaur and Swarn Kaur mother of the injured Kanwaljit Singh told that accused Kulwant Singh along with others fired on Kanwajit in which he got seriously injuries and further referred to Amritsar. Swarn Kaur said that accused Kulwant Singh who was former Sarpanch and his son present Sarpanch Nirmal Singh after the results raise allegation on them that they do not cast their vote to Akali Dal Candidate Sucha Singh Langah and politically revolt against us.
Till filling the news police still waiting for the statement of the injured Kanwaljit Singh and FIR has not lodged.
