Hundreds participate in Chandigarh Riyothon 2019

CHANDIGARH: A large number of Chandigarh residents turned up to participate in the RIYOTHON 2019 (marathon) organised by Rising India Youth Organisation. Enthusiasm and 'Josh' of the students had  to be seen to be believed. Wide participation of the Chandigarh citizens was reflected in the age profile of the participants also. The youngest participant was seven- year old and eldest was 57-year old

A two minutes silence was observed in which participants paid homage for the Pulawama terror attack martyrs. The registration process started around 5:15 a.m and all the participants received RIYOTHON 2019 T-shirts rendering a festive aura to the whole occasion.

Chandigarh Mayor Rajesh Kalia flagged off the marathon. Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel was also present on the occasion.

 The participants traversed through the picturesque Leisure Valley en route to the finishing line and flashed victory signs on completing the run. After, refreshments the keynote speaker  Shankranand asked the participants to imbibe good moral and cultural values in the day to day life to serve the nation. K K Yadav, MC, Chandigarh and Deepak Joshi distributed the medals and certificates to the top participants.

The young participants extolled the Swatch Bharat campaign by launching the cleanliness drive from the venue itself.
