Guru Nanak Dev University's Third Theatre Festival inaugurated

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University's Third Theatre Festival, spanning five days, commenced with an illustrious inauguration ceremony. The event was graced by esteemed personalities including CA Davinder Singh, founder of Timeless Amritsar; Dr.Renu Bhardwaj, Director Research; Dr. Amandeep Singh, Director of the Youth Welfare Department; Navneet Randhey of Awaz Rangmanch; and Dr. Sunil, Professor in charge of the Drama Club and Head, Department of Hindi at the University.

The festival's opening day featured the captivating play "Khadd, " directed by Kanwal Randhey and scripted by Pali Bhupinder Singh. "Khadd" artfully illuminated the depths of the human psyche, challenging societal norms and fostering liberation from orthodox thinking and rigidity. The audience responded with resounding applause, acknowledging the play's message and performances by actors including Bachanpal Singh, Ravinder Kaur, Harsh, Karamjit Singh, Khushnaseeb, under the lighting design by Navneet Randhey and Navdeep.

Dr. Amandeep Singh, Director, Youth Welfare commended Guru Nanak Dev University's Drama Club and Awaz Rangmanch Toli for their dedicated contributions to the university's theatre legacy over the past three years.

He expressed confidence that this Third Theatre Festival would carve a distinguished place on the national stage. Mr. Harpreet Singh, Convenor of the drama club conducted the stage beautifully.

Prof. Sunil, Head, Department of Hindi extended gratitude to all attendees and eagerly anticipated the upcoming plays over the next four days. The festival lineup includes "Ek Aas, " directed by Navneet Randhey; "Bhasha Vehnda Darya, " directed by Dr. Kanwal Dhillon; "Kar Leo Ghro Nu Bhanda, " directed by Dr. Lakha Lehri; and "Mann Mitti Da Bolea" by Aneeta Shabdeesh, promising an enriching and culturally vibrant experience for all participants and spectators.
