147 students get placements at Rayat Bahra job fair

ROPAR: Rayat Polytechnic College, Ropar, successfully organised a mega job fair, ‘Naukari Mela 2017’ for diploma holders at the Ropar campus on Wednesday. The visiting companies short listed over 200 students of Rayat Polytechnic College which bagged the top honours in the recruitment process. Overall 147 got placements with an average package of Rs 2.40 lakh per annum.
Through the job fair, the Rayat-Bahra group provided a platform to students of Punjab so that they might get placements in reputed companies and make their career. Over 30 companies from the region including Deltron, Micromax, Bajaj Motors, Mitsuba Sical, Sentiss Pharma, Eicher tractors, Satyam Auto components and many others participated in the fair.
Over 400 students from various reputed colleges of Punjab participated in the job fair where the companies shortlisted students through process of written test and interview. By recruitment efforts of Rayat-Bahra Group, the companies selected over 200 students of Rayat Polytechnic College.
This was the eighth job fair in the series of Polytechnic job fairs conducted every year by the Rayat Polytechnic College. The fair was inaugurated by Chairman of the Group Gurvinder Singh Bahra in the presence of all the corporate officials. Bahra threw light on programmes and policies of the Group. He said this year around four job fairs had been organised and the Group would organise more such events for providing good career opportunities to its students.
Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus Director, appreciated the efforts of staff of the Placement Cell of the Group for organising such event. He said the Rayat-Bahra group was mulling the idea of inviting over 50 companies in the next event and professed more placements in the next session.
Expressing satisfaction on the performance of Rayat Poltechnic students, Dr. Ajay Goyal, Joint Campus Director, said, “It is a matter of pride for the Rayat-Bahra Group that students from our own polytechnic are getting selected in companies of such good repute. They have proved that the technical knowledge imparted by the faculty is bringing the fruitful results to them.”
