Village youth murdered by his own friends

PHAGWARA : A Village youth was reportedly murdered with sharp-edged weapons by his own three friends in village Buraj-Hussan near Phillaur late last night. The deceased was identified as Raman Kumar. Deputy Superintendent of the Police Phillaur Jagdish Raj while confirming the murder, told this correspondent here on Thursday morning that minor quarrel between the deceased and the accused over a mobile phone was said to be the cause of murder.

DSP said that the accused identified as Gurprreet Singh@ Gopi, Lavepreet Singh @Khatti and Davinder Singh all residents of the same village.

DSP told that as per preliminary information, the accused Gopi was not returning the mobile of the deceased Raman and the minor quarrel turned into violence. All three accused along with their family members were still at large. Raids are being conducted at several places to nab the killers. The Police have registered a case under section 302,34IPC against the accused. The body of the deceased boy was handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination conducted in civil hospital Phillaur, said DSP Raj.
