Sikh MLAs should listen to the voice of conscience and implement the decision of Sri Akal Takht Sahib - Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj

FARIDKOT: All Sikh MLAs sitting in the government should listen to the voice of their conscience and play their due role in implementing the decision taken by praying at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

This was expressed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj while addressing the function before leaving for the next leg of the Miri Piri Khalsa March from Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Faridkot.

Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj said that for a Sikh, the first thing is Guru Granth Sahib and Guru Panth. Whatever is against the dignity of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the principles of Guru Panth, a Sikh will never accept it.

He said that the government is spreading the news that all the demands of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Sikh Panth have been accepted regarding the act being made regarding the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

He clarified that this is not the reality. He said that our point is absolutely straightforward and clear, if someone sacrileges Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, then a law should be made for the strictest punishment for that culprit. The Sikh Panth has no objection to this. But to whom should the form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji be given, whose service, dignity and responsibility it is, this is the right of the Guru Panth alone and exclusively. No government or government official has any right to interfere in this. If a government official goes to the homes of Sikhs and inspects the Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, then this is a direct interference in the religious freedom of Sikhism and the sacred relationship between Guru and Sikh. We cannot accept this under any circumstances. He made it clear to the government that we have no objection to the system of strict punishment for those who commit sacrilege, but where there is a question of interference in the dignity of Sikhism, service to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the rights of the Guru Panth, we had refused earlier, we still do today and will continue to do so in the future.

He said that Sikhs will never tolerate interference in their religion. He said that despite repeated explanations, if this matter is presented with cunning and it is propagated that all demands have been accepted, then this is contrary to the truth. He told the Sikh MLAs that for Sikhs, the Guru and the Guru Panth come first. The government comes and goes. Therefore, as per the promise made by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, those clauses to which the Sangat has objections should be removed.
Meanwhile, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is not an ordinary institution, but the highest place established by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, which is a symbol of the protection of Gurmat principles and the leadership of the Panth. He said that for a long time now, efforts have been made to question the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and limit its rights.

He said that every person should understand that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is not a worldly throne, but the throne of Akal Purakh, whose dignity and decisions are supreme for the Sikh Panth. The SGPC President said that recently, in the presence of Singh Sahibs, MLAs and ministers gave assurances, prayed and promised to make necessary amendments in the Act with cheers. But unfortunately, instead of making amendments as promised, the government sent only an explanation letter, which seems to be an attempt to mislead the people. He said that the Sikh Panth will never accept interference in religious matters and ignoring the instructions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

He said that history is a witness that the governments of time and again tried to weaken the Sikh morality, but the Panth continued to get the right path with steadfastness from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He said that the purpose of the "Miri-Piri Khalsa March" is not to clash with anyone, but to create awareness among the people about the eternal principles of Guru Sahib, the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the rights of the Sikh community. He said that this Khalsa March will connect us more strongly with our history, our heritage and the thinking of Miri-Piri bestowed by the Guru. He appealed to the Sangat to adopt the principles of the Guru, respect the morality of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and take the message of Guru's grace of solidarity, truth and justice to every household.

On the eighth day, today, this Khalsa March left Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Faridkot for the next stage Gurdwara Gangsar Sahib Jaito Faridkot. Before the departure of the Khalsa March, during the ceremony at the Gurdwara Sahib, Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh connected the Sangat with history. After the Ardas at the beginning, Singh Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh adorned the holy Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Palki Sahib and the service of Chaur Sahib was performed by Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj. Great enthusiasm is being seen among the Sangat towards the Miri Piri Khalsa March that started from Sri Akal Takht Sahib with the aim of promoting the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, national unity, Panthic consciousness and connecting the youth with the Sikh heritage. The Khalsa March is being warmly welcomed by the Sangat at different stages.

The Miri Piri Khalsa March was welcomed by the Sangat at Police Line, Gurdwara Gyan Godri Sahib, Tibbi Bharaiyan, Sandhwan, Battiya Wala Chowk Kotkapura, Bus Stand, Tin Koni, Dana Mandi, Dhilwan Kalan, Behbal Kalan, Bargari, Godara, Lambhwali, Bajakhana, Sedha Singh Wala, Kothe Santan and expressed their devotion to Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Tonight's leg of the Khalsa March will be at Gurdwara Gangsar Sahib Jaito (Faridkot), from where it will leave for the next leg tomorrow.

The bus carrying the weapons of the Gurus and Shaheed Singhs and the pictures of Shaheed Singhs placed on various vehicles along with the Khalsa March were a special attraction for the Sangat. During the Khalsa March, the youth expressed their devotion to Sri Akal Takht Sahib by hoisting placards written against the Guru and the Khalsa Panth.

Gurmeet Singh Muktsari, In-charge S. Gurpreet Singh Rode, S. Avtar Singh, Additional Manager S. Yuvraj Singh, S. Sandeep Singh Kalota, In-charge S.
