GURDASPUR:The Punjab Government has given an opportunity to the farmers and their families to apply for the treatment facility up to Rs. 5 lakh under Sarbatt Health Insurance Scheme till August 15.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq said that the farmers who have not enrolled themselves under this scheme during the year 2020-21 can enroll themselves and their families till August 15, 2021. More information about this scheme can be obtained from Toll Free No. 104 or from Mandi Board's website www.mandiboard.nic.in.
He said that the farmers could get the benefit of 'J' form holder from the crop sold after 1-10-2020 or the sugarcane slip of sugarcane sold to the sugar mills and hence they could also contact the office of the Market Committees. .
He said that in a family the head of the household is a farmer, husband and wife, parents, unmarried children, divorced daughter and her minor children, widowed daughter-in-law and her minor children are entitled to benefits.
He asked the farmers who were denied enrollment under this scheme last year to take advantage of this golden opportunity provided by the Punjab government.
