PHAGWARA: One Newly Wedded Young Couple of Ludhiana was killed in a road mishap near Phillaur on Monday.
ASP Phillaur Sohail Mir while confirming it told this correspondent here today that Vijay Kumar and His Wife Geeta were going from Ludhiana to Jalandhar on their Activa no PB-91-7909, but suddenly the Activa skidded from the road and both of them fell down on the road, but unfortunately a heavy vehicle coming from rear side crushed them.Vijay died on the spot while his Wife Geeta succumbed to her critical injuries in Civil Hospital Phillaur. The Dead Bodies of the both deceased were handed over to their families after post-mortem examination conducted in Phillaur today afternoon.
Meanwhile in another mishap, a 73 years old person identified as Harbhghan Singh reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling at his residence in Fatehsingh Nagar here last night. Deep Stress was said to be the cause of suicide, the police said.
