SC Commission orders registration of FIR against Panchayat for getting false case against constable

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission’s intervention has resulted in the registration of an FIR against the panchayat of village sohian falling within Tehsil Payal of District Ludhiana for getting a false case registered against a constable of Punjab Police.

Disclosing this, the Chairperson of the Commission Mrs. Tejinder Kaur said that Jarnail Singh S/o Kartar Singh R/o Village Sohian, Tehsil Payal, District Ludhiana had filed a written complaint before the commission that with a view to oust him from the government job, Malkit Singh S/o Sajjan Singh, Sukhjivan Kaur D/o Malkit Singh, Ex Panch Mandeep Singh, ex Sarpanch Vinod Kumar, Numberdar Gurmit Singh and Hardeep Singh S/o Bant Singh had filed false complaint against him under section 107/151 and besides this, leveled false allegations against him pertaining to stealing 10 bricks belonging to panchayat and got cased registered against him u/s 380, 427 and 506.

The Chairperson further said that the probe into the complaint carried out by the Commission Member Mr. Gyan Chand Diwali found the same false and the court also found no substance in the allegations leading to the acquittal of the complainant Jarnail singh. The root cause of the whole case was the drainage of polluted water which was opposed by jarnail singh. Then Malkit Singh, Sukhjivan Kaur, Mandeep Singh, Vinod Kumar, Gurmit Singh and Hardeep Singh alongwith others got false case registered against constable surinder singh using their clout.

The commission after probing the matter directed SSP Khanna to register a case against malkit singh and others under sections (10) (2) (H), section 3(1)(8) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Cruelities) Act, 1989 and section 182 IPC and submit action taken report before the commission on 9th October, 2019.
