Punjab govt waived off debts of Rs. 8 thousand 556 crore of the farmers: Randeep Singh Nabha

FEROZEPUR: Randeep Singh Nabha, Agriculture and Food Processing Minister of Punjab, during a press conference at the residence of MLA Kulbir Singh at Zira said that Punjab government has waived off the debt of the farmers of Rs. 8 thousand 556 crore. Apart from this, a debt of Rs. 50 crore has also been waived of the farmers of Zira constituency. Sh. Kulbir Singh Zira, MLA was also present on the occasion.

After this, the Cabinet Minister Mr Randeep Singh Nabha laid the foundation stone of Grain Yard at village Vada Pohvindia Mandi Zira. He also laid the foundation stone of new construction link road from village Botian Wala to Mehar Singh Wala with a total length of 2.95 km and cost of Rs.84.92 lakhs.

He also laid the foundation stone of Grain Yard at village Lahuke Kalan and construction of roads. He also laid the foundation stone of Giddarpindi toll plaza road.

While replying to the questions of the media persons at the residence of MLA Kulbir Zira, Punjab Cabinet Minister Sh. Randeep Singh Nabha said that a special meeting has been convened in the coming days under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi regarding the pending cases of loan waiver of farmers up to 2.5 acres. In this meeting, whatever the Cabinet will take the decision that will be implemented. He said that Congress party would come to power with absolute majority in the forthcoming assembly elections. During the elections all the parties are pushing for their own, but this time the Congress party will definately form the government again.

In his address MLA Kulbir Singh Zira said that the development work done by him has been carried out in the constituency as per the advice of the youth and elders of the constituency. He appealed to the people of the constituency to make the Congress party successful in the forthcoming elections by getting maximum votes so that the pace of development work could be further accelerated. Apart from SDM Suba Singh, officials of various departments and constituency residents were also present on the occasion.
