Mission Fateh-2 will ensure sampling of Corona in rural areas: Civil Surgeon

NAWANSHAHR: Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal, the Health Department has launched Mission Fateh-2 Corona Free Village Campaign with the objective of conducting saplings on a large scale in rural areas in the district.
Disclosing this here today Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurdeep Singh Kapoor said that it has been observed that the positive rate in all the rural areas has been increasing at a rapid pace for the last two weeks, which is very worrying. He said that every effort would be made to make the villages Corona free and achieve the goal of Mission Fateh-2. He said that time had arrived to make the villages corona free, hence this special campaign has been launched.
He said that door to door survey has been started by ASHA workers to break the chain of corona virus and this survey would be completed in the next few days. He further said that Asha workers were conducting a survey of patients suffering from severe fever and respiratory infections in every village, after which the information of suspected patients would be collected.
Elaborating on the mission, Dr. Kapoor said that Asha workers would go door to door in every village to check for covid symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing. He said that pulse oximeters were being provided to all ASHA workers for this survey. He also appealed to the people living in the villages to cooperate with Asha workers and other medical staff for the eradication of Corona from the district. He said that the health department was working day and night to ensure the safety of the people during the Corona pande6 and the general public should also cooperate with the health department in this endeavor.
District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Rakesh Chandra, District Group Education and Information Officer Jagat Ram, Block Extension Educator Vikas Virdi, PA Ajay Kumar and other officials and staff of Health Department were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, five persons including two youths -24 year old male of Mujaffarpur block and 36 year old of Nawanshahr urban block-lost their lives to the pandemic in the district today. A total of 110 new infections were detected while CFR remained high at 2.82 per cent. Recovery rate as per official bulletin was also low at 89.46 percent.
