NAKODAR: The Nakodar city police have arrested a Jalandhar resident on the charge of rape and criminal intimidation.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakhwinder Singh Mall said that the accused has been identified as Sachin Kumar Chandar a resident of house no.11, Durga Colony, behind HMV college Jalandhar.
The victim had complained to the police that the accused took her to a mansion at Nakodar and gave her a cold drink mixed with an intoxicant substance and raped her and threatened her with dire consequences. DSP said a case under sections 376(rape) and 328(causing hurt by means of poison) and 506(criminal intimidation)354-D (stalking) of the IPC and sections ¾ of the ST/SC Act was registered against the accused who was released on bail.(
