IDP sponsored National e-conference kick starts at Vet Varsity

LUDHIANA: Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Cell, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana is organizing a five days National e-conference on “Igniting Young Minds for sustainable growth through entrepreneurship and skill development: A Vets’ vision”. Dr. R.C Agrawal, DDG (Edu.) and National Director, NAHEP-ICAR was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session of this conference.

Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Principal Investigator of IDP at GADVASU and Organizing Chairman of the conference welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them about various activities being undertaken under umbrella of IDP. He also presented the detail of events to be held in coming 5 days and stressed that all events have been planned taking into account maximum participation from B.V.Sc. & A.H. students from all the professional years across the nation. He informed that conference encompasses events like quiz sessions (Vet Intellects, Smart Mind Vets and Vet-o-Holics), Poster presentations (e-canvas spills) for UG, PG and faculty members and expert technical sessions (Brain Manthan).

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU appreciated the efforts of IDP team for arranging such event. He informed the audience that a number of activities are being undertaken regularly by GADVASU for holistic development of students rather than just academic upgradation. New facilities are created like smart class rooms and advanced computer labs, in addition to installation of CCTV cameras in and around campus to ensure that all the students and faculty members feel safe and secure during off hours. On this occasion, a dedicated website for IDP, GADVASU was launched by Dr. R C Agrawal, National Director, NAHEP. Along with that, four orientation booklets and Internship pack were released by Vice Chancellor for ready reference of students, particularly newly admitted ones.

Dr. P Ramasundaram, National Coordinator, IDP complemented efforts of GADVASU in implantation of the project and suggested some activities that can also be targeted with conviction. Dr. R. C Agarwal had words of praise for university for outshining in all spheres. He applauded the zeal and meticulous planning of university in arranging varied events for undergraduate students in IDP project. He suggested that changes in academic structure is need of the hour as per New Education Policy and university should try to motivate students for educational excellence rather than academic excellence. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Ramneek, Dean College of Dairy Science and Technology, GADVASU Ludhiana.
