Harpreet Singh Sudan took over as DC Amritsar, and paid obeisance at Golen Temple

AMRITSAR: Harpreet Singh Soodan, a 2013 batch IAS officer today assumed charge as the 175th Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar. He was earlier posted as Deputy Commissioner at Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Mr Sudan along with his family paid obeisance at Sachkhand  Sri Harmandir  Sahib and received the blessings of Guru Ram Das Ji.  Mr  Sudan and his family were honored by the officials of  Shiromani  Gurdwara  Parbandhak  Committee  at Golden  Temple  information  office.

 Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira, who has been transferred from Amritsar to Sri Muktsar Sahib, welcomed Mr. Sudan with a bouquet of flowers and seated him in his presence. Earlier, the police personnel saluted him and welcomed him on his arrival in Amritsar.

 "Giving clean and tidy administration will be my first priority, " Sudan said in a brief meeting on the occasion. 

He said that although as Deputy Commissioner there is a lot of busyness, but I will try to give time to meet people on daily basis. Accompanying Mr. Sudan on this occasion were his mother Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur, father Advocate Mr. Jaspal Singh Manipur and other family members were also present. Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira wished Mr. Sudan all the best for his new assignment. 

On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ranbir Singh Moodhal, SDM Mr. Rajesh Sharma, District Revenue Officer Mr. Mr. Arvinderpal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Amarinder Singh Tiwana, Tehsildar Mr. Parampreet Singh Goraya and other officials were also present.

 It may be recalled that when the Punjab was annexed by the British in 1849, the first Deputy Commissioner was appointed at Amritsar on 20 April 1849
