NAWANSHAHR: Punjab Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Wednesday said that Punjab Government would make all-out efforts to bring back the glory of government schools in the state.
Inspecting Government High Smart School and Primary Smart Schools in Saloh village in Nawanshahr, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that education is top-priority sector of Punjab Government and it has already started focusing to empower the government schools in the Punjab by ramping up infrastructure, recruitment of teachers and others to ensure quality education to the students.
He said that the level of the government schools would be raised on par with private educational institutes.
Terming the teachers nation builders, Education Minister solicited their wholeheartedly support and said that state government would leave no stone unturned to make state front runner state within the country in field of education.
Hayer added that state government under leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state would scale new heights in education sector.
He also announced that the department would continue online transfer policy for the teachers and massive recruitment drive of new teachers would soon start to ensure quality education by filling vacant posts in the state.
The Minister also interacted with students and asked them to imbibe the qualities of positivity and hard work in their lives as these are keys to achieve success.
Hayer also checked the quality of the mid-day meal by tasting the meal. He also took stock of the smart class rooms where the students were learning through projectors. Later, the Minister also held a meeting with the headmaster and teachers and sought their suggestions and feedback to further improve the existing education system.
Prominent among present on the occasion included MLA Garhshankar Jai Kishan Singh Rouri, AAP senior leaders Lalit Mohan Pathak, Kuljeet Singh Sarhal, District President Shivkaran Chechi, Youth President Vineet Jadla and others.
