Chhina thanks PM, Gadkari for Linking Amritsar with Delhi-Katra Expressway

AMRITSAR:Says we should rise above political Lines over uch important projectsSenior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and Chairman, NHAI Dr.SS Sandhu for linking `holy city’ with Rs. 60, 000 crores ambitious project of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
He said the region will witness a boost for the economic activities and the pilgrims from around the world will be happy to see the important region linked to national capital and another pilgrimage centre Vaishno Devi through the high speed expressway.
Chhina who had earlier shot off letters to PM and other authorities to link Amritsar had earlier expressed shock that the ‘holy city’ was being excluded from the project. ``I am thankful to the authorities and everyone who contributed for ensuring that the city and this region is linked with the Expressway”, said Chhina.
He said we should rise above the political affiliations and come together on a single platform to safeguards the interests of the region. ``I had sought the intervention of the PM and Minister to include Amritsar, which is mecca of the Sikhs and world level pilgrims centre, on the map of this important modern road”, said Chhina.
He said Amritsar deserved to be linked on the significant route map of this important project. “ With this project now the City of Golden Temple would be directly linked with the national Capital Delhi on the one hand and holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi on the other”, said he adding that we need smooth flow of pilgrims in the region and economic activity, particularly the religious tourism needed to be boosted furthe
