Camp organized under Milk Consumer Awareness Campaign

S.A.S.NAGAR:In accordance with the objectives of the Mission Tandarust Punjab, and as per the Milk Consumers Awareness Campaign being run by the Punjab Dairy Development Board, A camp was organized here today.

During the camp supervised by the Diary Technologist Mr. Darshan Singh, various experts while divulging about the campaign, said that the main motive behind the initiative is to make people aware about the significance of milk for the human health besides the various potential adulterations.

On the occasion, a total of 42 samples were tested by the mobile laboratory on the spot itself, Out of which 31 cleared the prescribed standards. Rest of the 11 samples were found adulterated in which water was detected to the extent of 13-21 percent. Other than water, no harmful substance was found in the samples.

The Dairy Technologist Mr. Darshan Singh further disclosed that the milk samples can be tested in all the departmental offices besides the camps. In order to organize such camps, the District Level Offices or Helpline 01722219276 can be contacted.

The camp was earlier inaugurated by eminent social worker Mr Kehar Chand. Among others present included Kamlesh Kumari, Shruti, Manjula, Kishori Devi, Sulochana, Kanchan, Jatinder Singh, Munna Lal, Dheeraj, Gulwant, Hardev Singh, Arvinder Singh and Gurdeep Singh.
