PHILLAUR: The election campaign of Congress candidate Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary in assembly constituency Phillaur got a huge boost when the Phillaur media in-charge of Bahujan Samaj Party Dr Gian Chand Chaukdian along with hundreds of his colleagues bid farewell to BSP and joined the Congress party in the presence of Chaudhary.
Former Punjab Youth Congress president Vikramjit Chaudhary wholehearted welcomed Dr Gian Chand and his colleagues. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gian Chand said that he was joining the Congress party along with his supporters due to the anti-people policies and stubborn attitude of BSP state president Jasveer Singh Garhi and Phillaur assembly’s AkaliDal BSP candidate Baldev Singh Khaira. He assured Vikramjit Chaudhary that he would strengthen the hands of the next Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi by ensuring the Congress party’s win from Phillaur with the biggest lead in Punjab, adding that there was a wave of happiness in the entire state after Congress announced its Chief Ministerial candidate.
Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, Vikramjit Chaudhary said that Congress was all set to win the polls from Phillaur constituency and make Charanjit Singh Channi the next Chief Minister of the state. He appealed to all the voters of the constituency to contribute to the victory of the Congress by reaching out to every village, every family and every relative.
