AMRITSAR: The birth anniversary of 9th Sikh guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur was celebrated with great enthusiasm here on Monday.
The Jaloo ( an exhibition of ancient traditional Sikh jewellery) was held at sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Akal Takht and Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib. Fireworks was also organised after the bhog of Rehraas sahib path in the evening.
A religious divan ( congregation) was held at Gurdwara Guru Ka Mahal birth place of the Guru , in which several raagis dhadis and preachers thrown the light on the teachings of Guru Teg Bahadur.
Meanwhile the Prakash Purab of the 9th Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was also celebrated by the Khalsa College Governing Council at the Gurdwara Sahib located in the college campus with great reverence.
On this occasion, the Honorary Secretary of the Council Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, who came to pay obeisance at the Guru's feet, congratulated the community and the people present on the holy day.
On the occasion of Kirtan Durbar organized at Gurdwara Sahib, the students of Khalsa College of Nursing enthralled the audience by singing Gur Jas.
On this occasion, Chhina enlightened the world about the teaching of peace and service by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib and inspired every human being to work for the good of the whole by following the path shown by Guru Sahib.
He said that Guru Sahib ji gave a great sacrifice for the protection of religion.
He said that with Guru Ji's sacrifice, the oppressed common people of India became ready to face the rulers and make sacrifices.
On this occasion, Prof. Anukiranjit Kaur informed the audience about Guru Sahib Ji's philosophy of life.
