AMRITSAR: Giani Harpreet Singh Jathedar of Akal Takht has taken serious view of stement of Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta branding Sikhs as terrorists and directed Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh immediately remove his DGP and also register case against him for hurting Sikh sentiments.
Dikar Gupta at a function yesteday had stated that Sikhs visiting Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan can become terrorists if they stay theie for Six hours. He had described it major threat to security of India. The Akal Takht Jathedar and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have strongly condemned the Gupta's statement. While SAD has announced to gherao Vidhan Sabha and Chief Minsiter if action was not taken againsy Gupta, the Akal Takht Jathedat who is on Pakistan visit has sought to remove DGP from his post or face consequences.
In a hard hitting statement Giani Harpreet Singh said that if Sikhs become trerrorists after visiting Gurdawara Kartarpur Sahib, they would time again love to become terrorists. He told Capt Amarinder Singh to take notice of the statement of Dinkar Gupta and remove him from his psot. He demanded to register a case of blasphemy against DGP. he added that Sikh go to Gurdawata Kartarpur Sahib to pay obeisance not to become terrorists.
Giani Harpreet Singh said that no Muslim becomes terrorist after visiting Macca Mdina and no Hindu becomes terrorist after visiting Katas Raj temple in Pakistan. He said that Sikhs would not tolerate vies of Dinkar Gupta at any cost.
Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia said that SAD would not allow Vidhan Sabha tio function if action was not taken agaisnt Dinkar Gupta and he would not withdraw his statement. He said that Dinkar Gupta had claimed that it was due to his efforsts that Kartarpur Sahib corridor was opened so far.
Paramjit Singh Sarna Delhi based Akali leader said that statement of Dinkar Gupta is part of design by center government ot closer the corridor. He said that Kartarpur Sahib corridor was symbol of begining fo new era of peace between India and Paksitan.He said that Sikhs were deeply hurt by Dinkar Gupta's statement and demanded strict action against him.
