Punjab

Have a tinge of morality, sever ties with BJP: Randhawa challenges SAD

October 19, 2019 12:37 PM

CHANDIGARH:The leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), read Badal Family, doesn’t appear to have left even a tinge of morality in them because had that been the case, the SAD wouldn’t have taken a minute to sever ties with the BJP given that party’s open allegation regarding drug taint on the SAD.”
These views were expressed here today in a press communiqué by the Cabinet Minister, Punjab, and the Senior Congress leader S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. The Congress leader said that SAD leaders are searching fast for a place to hide their faces from the people of Punjab in the aftermath of the situation when the Chief Minister, Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar recently leveled allegations of drug abuse on the SAD candidate from Kalanwali, Rajinder Singh Desujodha. The SAD should sever all ties with the saffron party if they have, though hoping against hope, some morality still left in them. He also challenged the SAD leadership to clarify their position on the drug charge.
Advising the SAD leadership to end its romance with the BJP, S. Randhawa said that on one hand the Haryana CM is openly saying that BJP would not only have forged alliance with SAD in Haryana but given the latter 2-3 seats more, had the SAD agreed to Haryana’s stand on SYL issue, on the other, Harsimrat Kaur Badal is still continuing as the Union Minister. “What makes her cling to her ministerial berth only she can explain”, said the Congress leader.
