Harsimrat Badal inaugurates state of art Railway Station at Sultanpur Lodhi

Union food processing industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today inaugurated the state of the art new Railway Station modeled on Sikh architecture along with a Multi-Media center besides releasing a book on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji to commemorate Guru Sahab’s 550th Parkash Purb.

The Railway Station, which has come up at a cost of Rs 25 crore, has been engineered to facilitate pilgrims visiting the holy city with the Railways construction two under passes, raising the height of platforms and installing two-foot bridges.
She also inspected the new passenger waiting for hall by the name of Guru Kirat Bhawan which has been constructed at the railway station with thirteen arches on either side of the central dome in keeping with Guru Sahab’s ‘tera tera’ philosophy. Mrs Badal also inaugurated the Multi-Media Centre and watched a fifteen minute a documentary which has been created to showcase the life and teachings of Guru Sahab to visiting devotees with particular reference to Sultanpur Lodhi.

The Union minister also released a book titled The Eternal Truth on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji on the occasion. She also disclosed that the National Book Trust had published three titles – Guru Nanak Bani, Nanak Bani and Sakhian Guru Nanak Dev – to spread the message of Guru Sahab’s writings among readers of the Indian sub continent. She said the books, published originally in Punjabi, would be translated into 15 major Indian languages and that Guru Nanak Bani had already been published in Urdu, Odia, Marathi, Hindi and Gujrati.
Hersimrat Kaur Badal also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acceding to the pending demands of the Sikh community be it doing away with the black list, releasing Sikh prisoners who had completed their jail terms, forming the SIT to ensure punishment to the perpetrators of the 1984 genocide and refunding GST on langar. She said the Prime Minister had also led the nation in celebrating the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Sahab by organizing comprehensive programs world over besides opening the Kartarpur Corridor to realize the Sikh community’s ardas to have ‘khule darshan deedar’ of Gurdwara Darbar Sahab in Kartarpur Sahib.

Mrs Badal said much more was being done by the Union government to facilitate pilgrims by starting special trains and flights besides taking up projects like establishing Chairs in the name of Guru Sahab in the United Kingdom and Canada and establishing an Inter-Faith Studies center at Guru Nanak Dev University.
