64th sugarcane crushing season starts in bhogpur cooperative sugar mill

 JALANDHAR:The 64th sugarcane crushing season (2019-20) was commenced on Tuesday in Bhogpur Cooperative Sugar Mill of the district.
Sangat Singh Gilzian, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Former MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee, MLA Pawan Kumar Adia, Ex-MLA Kamaljeet Singh Lalli, and Dr Guriqbal Singh Kahlon, were especially present during the function.

 Speaking during the function,   Sangat Singh Gilzian, said that the state government has been spending Rs 108 crore on the expansion project of the mill which would enhance the capacity of this plant to 3000 Tons of cane crushing per day (TCD) and informed 75 per cent of expansion work has already been completed.

He also told that once the completion of work, the mill would generate revenue of Rs 25 crore every crushing season by exporting the power once the completion of the project.

GM Sugar Mill Arun Kumar Arora said that the season would be finished in the second week of April after ensuring the crushing of whole sugarcane in the entire region.

Before the start of the season, an 'Akhand Path' was organized in Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha in a sugar mill.

 
 On the occasion, Paramvir Singh, Parminder Singh Malli, Paramjeet Singh, Harjinder Singh,   Satpal Singh,   Harjinder Singh,   Gurdawar Singh,   Manjeet Singh,   Manpreet Kaur and others were present.
