NAWANSHAHR: District Police Chief Alka Meena today launched the "Hara-Bhai Nawanshahr Campaign" launched by noted local NGO Awaaz Welfare Society in association with other partner NGOs by planting saplings at the Langroya Point of the bypass.
Alka Meena later informed that the Awaaz had joined hands with other organizations of the district, conscious citizens and social workers to plant 10, 000 saplings to make this bypass green and beautiful. She said that all the organizations were cooperating in this work.
She lauded the initiative of Awaaz and appealed to all the conscious citizens and residents of the area to plant as many trees as possible for a cleaner environment. She congratulated all the organizations of Nawanshahr who are involved in this noble cause. She assured of all Punjab police's in this endeavor.
On this occasion, DSP Raj Kumar, Sarwan Meelu and Varinder Bajarh, both from Awaaz , Varinder from Go-Green Barnala, Madan Lal Chechi, Surinder Khepar, Harsh Sharma and Harinder Bazarha were present.
