RMS Chhina Hails Modi government for CAA's Implementation

AMRIK SINGH | March 13, 2024 08:26 PM

AMRITSAR: Senior BJP leader and Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency incharge Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hailed the Union Modi government for notifying he Citizenship (Amendment) Rules-2024, which will benefit thousands of Sikhs and Hindus, facing hardships in various neighbouring countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan. He said he welcomes the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendera Modi for taking the strong decision, which will facilitate the minority community migrants to gain citizenship status in India.

Chhina said that ever since PM Modi has assumed power, his dream is to bring India to the forefront of developed countries, for which he and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have taken tough decisions for the general welfare of mankind. He said that before the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) came into effect in December 2014, undocumented minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who had been the victims of religious-based excesses and violence, had been left in the lurch. "Now the process of granting Indian citizenship to refugees will be speeded up", said he.
.
He said that there are numerous such refugees across the country, in Punjab and even in the city of Amritsar, who had been living the life of misery and uncertainties. There will be a major relief to all of them due to enforcement of the new law. He said that the opposition parties including Congress and AAP are trying to distract the people and giving misleading statements, diverting from real issues but the fact is that CAA is not a discriminatory law and will not deprive any existing citizen of their citizenship. He said rather, its purpose is to end infiltration and provide citizenship to refugees who have migrated from hostile countries and come to India to live peacefully.
