Fervor marks Teachers Day at Rayat Bahra Varsity

MOHALI: To commemorate the birth anniversary of our first president Dr S Radhakrishnan, Teachers Day was celebrated with fervour at the Rayat Bahra University today. On this occasion, a special assembly was organized wherein the students were enlightened about the life of S Radhakrishnan.

Dr Daljit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, lauded the teachers for nurturing and inspiring the students to follow the right direction. He appreciated them for their constant endeavors in the field of education.

The celebrations included adorable and endearing performances by the students of different schools of the university that left everyone present in awe.These were followed by some fun games.

A colouful cultural bonanza was presented by the students. On the spot painting, slogan writing, poster making and other contests were organised in which the students participated enthusiastically. The winners in different competitions were awarded prizes by the Vice-Chancellor.

The programme was followed by a nice treat for the teachers as a token of appreciation .The programme concluded on an inspirational and happy note.

In Poster Making Harleen Kaur Dhillon CSE 1st year, Mudita BA LLB third semester, and Gaurav BA-BED 1st year won top prizes. In Slogan Writing Mandeep Kaur, of M Sc Physics (First year), Nikita MA (English) First year and Dipali and Neha of B Sc Life Sciences (Fifth semester) won the first, second and third prize respectively.
