Balbir singh Sidhu hands over appointment letters to 308 staff nurses

CHANDIGARH: The Health & Family Welfare Minister on Thursday handed over the appointment letters to 308 Staff nurses under National Health Mission, Punjab.

Disclosing this, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that to further improve the functioning of District & Sub Divisional Hospitals, Community Health & Primary health Centres, the Punjab Government had made the around 4000 recruitments of Medical, Para-Medical and other staff in the Health Department so far.  He said that Staff Nurses play the significant role to facilitate healthcare facilities and these newly appointed staff nurses would certainly helpful to provide health facilities to the people in the Government hospitals.

The Minister said that these staff nurses appeared for the written exam and skill test in 2018 while earlier, 534 staff nurses had already been appointed in first phase of this recruitment.  He said that soon the recruitment against the vacant posts of Pharmacists, Lab Technicians and others would also be filled in phase manner.

While congratulating the newly appointed candidates, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that they are getting the opportunity to perform social service with their job so that they have to understand their responsibility with keen interest towards the society. This would also build their image and prestige in the society besides raising their social status.

Among others present on the occasion included Secretary Health cum Mission Director National Health Mission Mr. Kumar Rahul, Managing Director PHSC cum Project Director Punjab State AIDS Control Society Mr. Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Director Health Services Dr. Avneet Kaur, Director Family Welfare Dr. Reeta Bhardwaj, Director National Health Mission, Punjab Dr. Parwinder Pal Sidhu and Manager (H.R.) Mrs. Deep Shikha.
