Lecture on Guru Nanak’s Philosophy at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: As part of the various programs being organized to commemorate 550th Parkash Purab (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a lecture was organized at Khalsa College here today on the philosophy and teachings of the Guru. The key note speaker was who expressed concern how we have deviated from the teachings of the Guru.

 Sardar Jaswinder Singh Khalsa who was earlier welcomed on the campus by Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, said the society was passing through a fragile period when there is race for material things leading to stress and mental complications. ``We have failed to inculcate Sikh values of simple living amongst our children. It is pity that people are resorting to display of religious chores but are away from the philosophy and teachings of the Guru”, said he.

 He also expressed concern over the rising Dera culture in Punjab and how some self style Babas resort to twisting of the philosophy of Gurus ate. He further emphasised that we all must feel presence of Almighty everywhere and must perform our duties rightfully. He also emphasised to practice Guru's teaching in our daily life and help the needy students who are poor but wish to peruse education.
