NRI Delegations from UK Visits Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: A delegation of 22 Non-Residents Indians (NRIs) from United Kingdom today visited Khalsa College and interacted with the students and teachers. The visit was organized under Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh's ambitiouspProgram "Connect With Your Roots (CYR) with the aim to enable the young men and women to become familiar with culture, heritage, education system and the way of living of the people of Punjab.

 

Principal Dr. Mehal Singh welcomed all the members of the delegation and apprised them with the glorious past, vision and mission of the College and contribution of Khalsa College in the fields of academics, sports, cultural arena and defence services. He lauded the initiative of CM which gives the young people an opportunity to learn about their family background and culture and build an emotional bonding with the land of their roots.

 

The delegation visited various departments including Sikh History and Research  Centre of the College. Department of Youth Welfare of College presented the folk dance "Bhangra" for the guests. The delegation was impressed by the grandeur and beauty of the campus. They said that they had a memorable experience which had left indelible imprint on their minds.
