Two drug peddlers arrested under NDPS Act

NAKODAR: The Nakodar sadar police have arrested a drug peddler on the charge of selling opium.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Saini said that 500 grams opium were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Bakramjit Singh son of Lakhwindarjit Singh a resident of Batala road, Kahnuwann village in Gurdass Pur and presently living behind Tagore hospital , Sangat Singh nagar, Jalandhar .

SHO said that a case under sections 18(B)/61/85 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused

The Criminal Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Jalandhar(rural) police have also arrested a drug peddler on the charge of selling poppy husk.

The investigating officer (IO) Pankaj Kumar said that 8 kilograms poppy husk were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Avashdip Singh son of Jaswindar Singh a resident of Kakkara Kalan village.

IO said that a case under sections 15(B)/61/85 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Shahkot police station.
