SHAHKOT: The Shahkot police have charged Lovjeet Nahar son of Rannjit Singh a resident of Said Pur Jirri village and his mother Bindar with rape, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy.
Investigating Officer I(IO) Inspector Kamlesh Kuar said the victim complained to police that both mother-son duo conspired to kidnap her on the pretext of marriage. The victim said that Lovejeet repeatedly raped her, and she became pregnant.
IO said that a case under sections 376(rape) , 120-B (criminal conspiracy, and 506 of the IPC have been registered against the accused.
