Couple booked for playing fraud with banks

NAKODAR: The Mehat Pur police have booked a couple on the charges of breach of trust and playing fraud with two banks.The investigating officer (IO) Sarabjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Jasvir Singh a resident of Parjian Kalan village in Shahkot and his wife Malkit Kaur.

Chief Managar Bank of India Nakodar complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused Jasvir Singh took a crop loan of Rs 12 Lakhs from the bank and without clearing loan amount sold his land.

Similarly the accused Malkit Kaur took a crop loan from Punjab National Bank mortgaging 10 kanals 13 marls of land and without clearing loan amount sold land further.

IO said that a case under section 406(breach of trust) , 420(cheating) , 465, 467, 468, 471(fraud) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry
