CBI arrests NTPC Manager accepting Rs one lakh bribe

NEW DELHI:The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested Om Prakash a Manager, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd, Phalodi, District Jodhpur (Rajasthan) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. one lakh from the complainant.

A case was registered on a complaint against Manager, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd. Phalodi, District Jodhpur U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as Amended in 2018) on the allegations that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 3, 50, 000/- from the complainant for the smooth functioning of the work relating to the cleaning of the Solar Plant at Bhadla, Phalodi District Jodhpur. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 1, 00, 000/- as installment. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused at Phalodi and Bhilwara (Rajasthan) which led to the recovery of incriminating documents.
The arrested accused will be produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jodhpur.
