CHANDIGARH: A 27 year old youth belonging to Ferozepur was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Kharar near here on Thursday evening. The victim has been identified as Inderjit Singh.
The police said that Inderjit Singh was riding on motorcycle with two of his friends when three accused stopped them near Darpan city and started firing. While two freinds of Inderjit ran away for safety, the assailants caught hold of Inderjeet and pumped about 17 bullets in his body. He was rushed to civil hospital Mohali where he was declared brought dead.
Police suspected old rivalry between the deceased and assailants as the deceased and two of his friends were facing some criminal cases too. The car in which accused travelled had no registration number and they managed to escape after killing the youth in broad day light.
