Know How to Challenge JEE Main 2019 Answer Key

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that JEE Main answer key will be released soon after the exam. An official answer key for JEE main will release so that the students can access themselves and check their score. The candidates will be able to know their score before the judgment day. The official JEE Main Answer Key will be available on the official website of JEE and the students can download it from there. Based on the answer key the students can predict their scores and know the final outcome beforehand.

Not just this, but NTA, allows the candidates to challenge the JEE main answer key. It means, if a student is not satisfied with the marks he/she has secured and thinks that there can be an error in the answer key, the student can raise his objection.

The student can do this by filling an online application form and paying the requisite amount for submitting the objection. The objection regarding any question will only be submitted by an online mode only. An amount of INR 1000 per question is charged in order to object on it. It is also important to know that the fee once paid to challenge the JEE Main Answer Key cannot be taken back as it is non-refundable.

Although, NTA provides an opportunity for students to clear their doubt or raise their voice against the same. However, the amount charged per question to challenge the JEE main answer key is quite high and not every student can afford to do so. In case, a student raises an objection on 4-5 questions, he will be keeping his INR 4000-5000 on the stake.

It is true that the JEE main answer key will help to know the students their level and let them enable to access themselves. The answer key will help the students cross check their answers and get an idea of how much score they are going to get in the JEE main exam. Also, at the end of estimating their total marks, the students can estimate their chances of qualifying for the entrance exam and also can have an idea of their rank. This will give an edge to the students to plan their future accordingly.

After the objection by students, NTA will again publish the JEE main answer key and this answer key will be final. Based on the objections raised by the students the expert team will do the required changes in the answer key after examining deeply. If any mistake is found then only the changes will be made otherwise the same JEE main answer key will be uploaded and now no objections can be raised on it. The final result will be made on the basis of the final answer key and the students must predict their scores based on the final answer key. No further objections will be entertained by NTA and their decision will be final.

All the candidates must be curious to know their scores. To know their scores, the students will have to download the official JEE main answer key from the official website.  Below are the steps mentioned to get the answer key:

  • Visit the official site as soon as the answer key gets published.
  • Log in to the system by entering your application number and password provided at the time of registration.
  • Click on the “login” button to submit your details.
  • You will be directed to another page. Click on the “download” button and your answer key will be downloaded.

Now the students are all set to cross-check their answer and predict their score. While calculating marks, students must keep in mind that the official marking scheme must be followed which is 4 marks for each correct answer and deduction of 1 mark for each wrong answer. A student needs to be careful while cross-checking the answers. The official JEE main answer key can serve as a boon for the students as they will have a beforehand preparation for the next attempt if in case they seem to be not doing well in the first attempt. Students will be enough time and they will not have to wait until the official declaration of the result. The official answer key will serve the purpose.
