ANTALYA (TURKEY):Recent winner of his maiden Challenger singles title in Manama (Bahrain), Ramkumar Ramanathan continues to display his good form by winning his singles as well as double first round matches with ease in the Euro 31, 440 Megasaray Hotel Open in Antalya (Turkey) on Wednesday.
Second seeded Ramkumar Ramanathan overpowered qualifier Louis Wessels of Germany in singles first round with a straight sets 6-2 6-3 in 72 minutes.
Ramkumar Ramanathan from Southern India won 81 per cent points (17/21) on his first serve and 63 percent (17/27) on second serve. The Indian player converted four of 10 breakpoints.
Louis Wessels won 71 percent points on his first serve and 38 percent points (9/24) on second serve. He served three aces and committed eight double faults. Ramkummar served two aces and made one double fault.
Ramkumar, ranked 186th will next meet 368th ranked Oliver Crawford of United states.
Later, fourth seeds Ramkumar Ramanathan of India, pairing Vladyslav Orlov of Ukraine beat Filip Cristian Jianu of Roumania and Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo of Spain 6-4 6-4 in doubles Round of 16.
