Fluent wins for Haryana and Chandigarh in JNW Hockey

KAKINADA: Hockey Haryana, Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Chandigarh and Hockey Association of Odisha registered victories in their respective matches on the second day of the 12th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2022 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

In the first match of the day, Hockey Haryana defeated Hockey Madhya Pradesh 9-0 in their Pool A match. Kanika Siwach (20', 23', 33') scored a hat-trick, while Neelam (4', 12') scored a brace. Meanwhile, Ishika (29'), Captain Usha (32'), Seema (34') and Pinki (60') scored one goal each for Hockey Haryana.

In Pool B, Hockey Jharkhand registered a comprehensive 9-0 victory over Assam Hockey. Pramodni Lakra (6', 9', 28') scored a hat-trick, while Nikki Kullu (36', 48') scored a brace. Meanwhile, Deepika Soreng (7'), Elin Dungdung (14'), Mahima Tete (22') and Rajni Kerketta (54') scored one goal each for Hockey Jharkhand.

Hockey Maharashtra defeated Le Puducherry Hockey 11-0 in their Pool C match. Captain Himanshi Gawande (2', 7', 44', 56') scored four goals, while Utkarsha Kale (5', 24', 53') scored a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Shivani Sahu (3'), Oshin Bansod (19'), Samiksha Shegunashi (50') and Prajakta Mane (59') scored one goal each for Hockey Maharashtra.

In Pool D, Hockey Chandigarh registered a 10-0 victory over Hockey Uttarakhand. Gurmail Kaur (36', 39', 55', 57') scored four goals, while Sonam (3', 26') and Priya (18', 49') scored a brace each. Meanwhile, Captain Radha (17') and Rakhi (25') scored one goal each for Hockey Chandigarh.

In the last match of the day, Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Kerala Hockey 7-0 in their Pool E match. Munmuni Das (21', 22', 48') scored a hat-trick, while Kamla Singh (17', 60') scored a brace. Meanwhile, Sunita Xaxa (5') and Captain Jyoti Chhatri (53') scored one goal each for Hockey Association of Odisha.
