CHANDIGARH:and Sandeep Kumar, both of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh won the women’s and men’s marathon races, respectively, in the Panjab University Championship here today.
Divyanka emerged a clearcut winner by clocking three hours 17 minutes and 39 seconds in the 42.195 km race. The second and third pB Khalsa College of Dasuya. Vikas Rani earned silver in three hours and 31 minutes and 12 seconds. The bronze went to Kavita Rani who clocked three hours 37 minutes and 15 seconds.
In the men’s section DAV College of Chandigarh dominated and the first three positions were claimed by their runners with Sanjeev Kumar spearheading the DAV College challenge.
Sandeep got gold by covering the energy-consuming 42.195 km race in two hours 33 minutes and 29 seconds. Silver medallist Narsing Patel clocked two hours 33 minutes and 36 seconds. Sahil Sagar won the bronze medal in two hours 42 minutes and 58 seconds.
CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP: Panjab University, Campus, Chandigarh won the Panjab University Inter College Chess (Women) CChampionship for the session 2021-22 . GGD SD College, Sector-32, Chandigarh, and Govt College for Girls, Ludhiana secured second and third positions respectively.
