Anirudh-Vijay rally to hard-fought win in Spain

JEEVAN-DAVID MOVE UP: Second seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan of India, partnering Luis David Martinez of Venezuela defeated Mateus Alves of Brazil and Alafia Ayeni of USA in the doubles first round in the $ 106, 240 Challenger Dove Men+Care in Temuco, Chile, by 6-4 6-2.

RAMKUMAR-ARJUN UPSET: Top seed Japanese Kaichi Uchida prevailed over Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India 6-3 1-6 6-3 in the singles first round match in the $ 53, 120 Yokkaichi Challenger in Japan.

Qualifier Colin Sinclair of Northern Mariana Islands scored a facile 6-2, 6-2 win over Ramkumar Ramanathan of India in singles first round match. Mukund Sasikumar beat wild card Japanese Naoki Nakagawa by 6-3 7-6 (4) in singles first round.

In the doubles first round match top seeded Indian pair of Arjun Kadhe and Ramkumar Ramanathan were upset by Japanese duo of Toshihide Matsui and Kaito Uesugi in straight sets 7-5 7-5 in the doubles first round fixture.
