Three water treatment plants among nine projects worth Rs.92 crores get nod under AMRUT 2.0

CHANDIGARH: In order to provide 100% water supply facility to the people of the state as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state level technical committee has appraised the detailed project reports (DPRs) of three Water Treatment Plants and six Water Supply distribution network worth Rs 92 crores under the AMRUT 2.0.

The meeting of the State Level Technical Committee was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Local Government Ajoy Sharma at Municipal Bhawan here on Friday.

Divulging details, Secretary Ajoy Sharma informed that the committee has appraised three water treatment plants approx worth Rs 60 crores for three towns including Jandiala Guru, Bhai Rupa and Rayya. Pertinently, Jandiala Guru to get a Water treatment plant of 7.0 MLD plant worth Rs 16.52 crores which will benefit the population of 34080, while, Rayya to get 4 MLD plant worth Rs 14.81 crores which will benefit 17986 people. Similarly, Bhai Rupa to get 4 MLD plant worth Rs 16.88 crores which will benefit 22008 people.The Committee has also approved water supply network.

The committee has also approved a Water Supply distribution network approx worth Rs 32 crores for six towns which include Patti, Bhikhiwind, Rayya, Bhai Rupa and Ahmedgarh, said the Secretary.

He said that the go-ahead by the State Level Technical Committee to DPR of these projects has paved the way for its commencement and tenders will be floated soon to initiate the construction process.
